Deva Citadel
Certainly the most important tourist attraction of the city, the Deva Citadel is a symbol of the city, and is a historical monument with secular architecture. It is located at an altitude of 378 meters. The Citadel is located on Citadel Hill, which is a small volcanic cone. It is easy to see from most parts of the city, as it is built around the Citadel, and you can learn a lot about the history of the city while visiting. A few hours are enough to visit the fortress, but the experience will stay with you for a long time. The fortress was built in the 1300s on the site of an old Daco-Roman fortification. It was one of the most important medieval fortifications in Transylvania. Over time, it passed through the hands of many different people, including princes, counts and voivodes. Its history was full of ups and downs, serving as a defense against Tatar invasions, it was a noble residence, a prison and an Austrian garrison. In the end, it underwent many transformations, but its walls remained unchanged, they were built in the XV-XVII centuries.
The Deva Fortress is one of the most beautiful and important medieval fortresses in Transylvania. To get to it you can choose to take a walk on the Citadel Hill, but we advise you to prepare a suitable pair of shoes, the way to the citadel is about an hour, or, if you are not fond of hiking and just want to enjoy the view you can choose to go up with the cable car. The price of a round-trip cable car ticket is 20 RON for adults, and 10 RON for pupils, students and pensioners.

Other gymnasts such as Daniela Silivaș, Simona Amânar, Gina Gogian, Lavinia Agache, Andreea Răducan, Maria Olaru, Daniela Sofronie, Monica Roșu, and Lavinia Miloșovici, and their coaches, Marta and Bela Karoly, Mariana Bitang, and Octavian Belu.
