The Council Square was, during the Middle Ages, an important fair and trading point, but today it is a symbol of Brasov itself and a lively square. Black Church

The history of the Black Church began in the 14th century, when the present church was built on the remains of a former church. It was not until the end of the 15th century that its construction was completed, in a Gothic style. In the 17th century there was a great fire that destroyed the roof and the interior furnishings of the church, and the walls became blackened. Hence the name it bears today! The church is less than 200 m from the Council Square.

Catherine Gate

The Catherine Gate was part of the gates of the fortress of Brasov around the 15th century and today it is an important historical monument. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful such gates in our country, especially as it has preserved most of its original appearance. It is located 500 m from the Council Square.

Tampa Mountain

Tampa Mountain is located right in the center of Brasov and reaches an altitude of 960 m. From the top, you can admire a superb and indescribable view over Brasov. It is part of the Postavaru Massif and you can get here either by cable car or on the marked trails (about 2-3 km, depending on where you start from). In Hollywood style a sign with the inscription ''Brasov'' has been built on the mountain. A trail leading to the top of the mountain is less than 800 m from Piata Sfatului.

Poiana Brasov

Poiana Brasov ski resort is probably the most popular in Romania! With ski slopes of all levels, trails over the mountains and breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder it's worth coming here to have fun on skis, snowboard or even sled. It is located 12 km from Brasov.
